I once dreamed of a place where pictures where painted with words
And literature was held at a higher standard so pens and paper made-up the birds
Where imaginings imagined me putting music in the place of the corrupt corporation
So my eyes cried tears of melodies and my fingers bled inspiration
Into the place where separatism is replaced by unity
And conformanism falls envious to the idea individuality
Where lakes and streams flow from the tips of pencils
Where art blew up on canvases like ballistic missiles
Where battlefields are littered with the charred remains of ignorance
Where pages of penmanship’s the national flag and our genius pledges its allegiance
It was a place where teachers taught treasures of thought
And the bounty was the beauty of a product that cant be store bought
Because time is currently the only type of currency
So invest in minutes together and gain interest in each other in abundancy
I dreamed of a place where info wasn’t on a need to know
But we read much more because it was what we needed to know
Where kids learned knowledge in their two parent home
nobody felt anymore superior so no one ever mounted the throne
Where people tended to write in patterns of poetry
And these patterns where placed on the sides of buildings constantly
Imagination was our spaceships and collective thought manned the controls
And government, well paragraphs the president, the pages in a notebooks the cabinet
And the election was a decision a mission placed in front of us to make them sufficient
Until I awoke to reality but the visions of my dream still burned in my mind
So I grabbed my notebook and headed out to make this dream a reality of mine.

Retrospect for Love
If I gave you the sun
Would you give me the time of day?
Or would you let time waist away
Until it’s safe to say “I don’t feel the way you do”
Until the days we no longer kiss away
And we don’t feel the way we used to
If I gave the moon
Would you let my dreams of us dance amongst your stars
And redefine our universe
Or would you curse in the ebony of night
And be the first to make matters worse
If I gave you my time
Would we share my gift together?
Until clocks lost their value and our moments were forever
Or will you let moments’ hands cover the lips we kiss through
Having too much pride to whisper the words “I miss you”
Why we let the heat of the moment dry up our water
Why can’t we let our love restore back the order?
But my heart holds the sweet times
Covered in passion and laced in rhymes
And this is such sweet sorrow
Because even as my heart breaks it still bleeds sugar
And if we lose our love and say our goodbyes
I ask you please don’t cry
Please don’t stir or make a fuss
Because I’m sure my pen will cry enough
To suffice for the both if us
Would you give me the time of day?
Or would you let time waist away
Until it’s safe to say “I don’t feel the way you do”
Until the days we no longer kiss away
And we don’t feel the way we used to
If I gave the moon
Would you let my dreams of us dance amongst your stars
And redefine our universe
Or would you curse in the ebony of night
And be the first to make matters worse
If I gave you my time
Would we share my gift together?
Until clocks lost their value and our moments were forever
Or will you let moments’ hands cover the lips we kiss through
Having too much pride to whisper the words “I miss you”
Why we let the heat of the moment dry up our water
Why can’t we let our love restore back the order?
But my heart holds the sweet times
Covered in passion and laced in rhymes
And this is such sweet sorrow
Because even as my heart breaks it still bleeds sugar
And if we lose our love and say our goodbyes
I ask you please don’t cry
Please don’t stir or make a fuss
Because I’m sure my pen will cry enough
To suffice for the both if us
