Holding on to bittersweet emotions of what just may become
Of the feelings that you harbor for someone
Like a boat that never leaves the dock
Destined to be tied down by the subliminal rock
Which weighs down your emotions
And leaves you with unfulfilled notions
But once they get you its hard to get loose
There’s only win and lose with no option for truce
but you get no poorer and you get no richer
no remorse for the loser and no spoils to the victor
Just heartbreaks and heartthrobs
Just mixed feelings and long sobs
Sad stories of loves lost
And paying the price for Loves cost
It racks the mind and pains the heart
All for something that may never start
And everything your willing to risk
all for a Love that may cease to exist
But how do you know when Love has got you
When the obvious things are no longer true
When your out and they are all that cross your mind
And with anybody else its that one flaw you seem to find
When you lay awake at night leering at the roof
Trying to find some sign some proof
That they feel the same way as you do
To fit into the perfect image that you drew
But no matter who or what you long for
